E. Carson River Rock Formations, Carson RangeAbove Big Meadow is where the River cuts through a massive pink block of granite marking the point where the river comes out of its steepest descent, from its 10,000 foot headwater bowl. All of the formations were carved by the changing track of the river through the rock over eons.
